This was posted by another Church Tech Director, to fix the color discrepancy on their IMAG projection. I though it was an interesting technique and is worth testing at the OP campus where the projection tends to be really cool (blue).

What we’ve done to color correct our projections that show up on video is using Rosco’s CTO (correct to orange) gels. http://www.rosco.com/us/filters/cinegel.cfm We cut a small piece of CTO, fit it over the projection lens and it color corrects really well on its own. I’ll then project NTSC bars and view it through our camera/switcher/scope and try to fine tune the colors but this often isn’t necessary.
The downside of the correction gel is it reduces the light transmission to around 73%. On the plus side, I’ve never had anyone from the congregation notice that the white’s weren’t “white” or feel that the colors were off on the live or recorded events. Fortunately, in a live scenario, the brain’s tendency to want things to be right will ignore this slight color shift.
