The Legacy LS campus and the Legacy 151 campus use a VOIP system (softphones) for communication among team members. We have a Trixbox server running in VMWare at each campus, with a conference room. Using a noise canceling headset/mic, each tech position connects to the conference room for open communication to the team.
This system has worked pretty well. It has been a great tool, low cost and really flexible. Not only can the teams communicate with each other, but because it’s all VOIP any campus can connect to them and be on comm with them.
The Legacy OP Control Room, however uses a clearcom system for communication to camera operators and team members. There has always been a disconnect between the clearcom system and the VOIP system… until now!!
Production Intercom (www.beltpack.com) has two devices that solved this issue for us. I installed the AD-903 in the Legacy OP control room. With this device connected, we initiate the softphone connection to the VOIP server and join the campus conference directly into the control room Clearcom system. To separate the chatter, Campus communication is on Channel 2, while camera communication is on channel 1
What we have now is a really elegant way to connect all campuses VOIP communication system directly into the clearcom system in the control room.

This is a beautiful device and allows us to connect a softphone directly to the clearcom system. (needed a custom cable to connect the PC mic/audio jacks to a 4pin XLR connector.)
AD-950 Telco Interface

The AD-950 connects to a standard analog phone, which we do not have (all VOIP). It connects between the wall jack and the phone, not between the phone and the handset. To use this, we would need to use a VOIP analog telehpone adapter to convert the VOIP to an analog signal.
