The problems experienced this past weekend were definitely an issue with the projector itself (Christie LX120).
I worked on the projector for a few hours yesterday, trying to identify exactly what caused the image loss. The cable running SDI to the projector was kinked and broken at the BNC connector. That was bad news, but not the problem (I re-terminated the cable at both ends). I even ran a completely new line to to the projector and with the new line, video was still not consistent.
I am certain, now, that the issue is with the projector itself, not the routing gear or cables.
At one point the projector totally flipped out and forced itself through a factory reset. After that reset, the projector appeared to be working normally.
Through today’s testing, it has performed normally and is working fine. We will continue testing it tomorrow to establish some confidence in it’s stability. If it continues to work fine, then that reset solved the issue. If it flips out on me again, I will force a factor reset on it. If that doesn’t work, we’ll pull it down and put up a rental.
