How do you budget for AVL equipment life cycles?
Certainly all equipment has an end of life, how do you project what the life cycle would be and plan for replacing/upgrading every X years.
As we plan to purchase new equipment to outfit an entire new campus, the question came up… How long should we expect this equipment to last. How much $$ should we be putting aside (monthly) into an equipment replacement fund so it is there when we need it in X years.
I would like to be forward thinking with regard to our budget. For example, we know in 10 years we’ll need to replace the roof, so we put money aside for that so it will be there when we need it.
What I’m trying to get a handle on, is how other churches budget for equipment life cycles. Are there any general guidelines that you use.
